It’s best to take steps to avoid this problem in advance: 

• Have friends and family install the Defibrio app so they can use their own phones.
• Share phone lock codes with loved ones.
• Write down phone lock codes inside the Defibrio AED.

If the patient uses a facial recognition lock, you can hold the phone up to their face. If necessary, installing the app on your own phone using the QR code on the device is quick and free and can provide access to the Defibrio in an emergency.
